Energy
Energy is a key component of cost in all products. We cannot compete in global market unless we lessen the cost through new and creative ways. We have already seen the positive effects of price competition within the utility sector. We should encourage open markets, regardless of source. With an eye towards a cleaner environment, we should also be open to advancement of conventional sources of energy that lessen their footprint on the environment. Here is my framework for better energy policy in Ohio:
- Increase competition within energy markets
- Where it makes sense, reduce government mandates and command and control government regulations in energy markets
- Increase incentives for protecting clean air and water
